I hope you (fellow northern hemisphere-ers) had a lovely summer! And if you're a southern hemisphere-er, a lovely winter! Before it all gets too far in the rearview mirror, here's a quick recap of the happenings around here these past few months that you might have missed while you were having fun under the sun (I hope)! And if you're only here for the tutu, scroll down...

On the blog - my Patagonia dream trip: As for my personal life... I played soccer for the first time in a few years and had SO much fun. We played our final game in tutus. We won. Enough said. My best friend came to visit me and see my new house, it was my favorite few days of summer in Montana. Our ice rink was under construction this summer so I didn't get to play much hockey, but we start back up tomorrow night and I cannot WAIT. I spent some time with extended family in Vermont, including my 93-year-old grandmother (the one from episode 48 of the podcast 11 years ago!). She's doing great, and her garden is still as beautiful as always. 💕 What's coming: I just had a very special reunion with some very special people, and I cannot wait to share the results with you (stay tuned here for my next updates, or tune in to hear it first on the podcast!) I leave next week for a couple weeks in Quebec, one of my favorite places, where I'm going on a bike trip and attending the Adventure Travel World Summit. Follow me on IG @travelingjackie for (maybe) some real-time updates, if I am paying enough attention to social media 😂 Happy September, may your PSLs be delicious and aplenty! 💛 Jackie |

Scott, her boyfriend at the time and now husband, came to visit, and we've all been in each other's lives these past 20+ years. (Scroll on for photos!) I recently had the honor of hosting each of them, separately, on the podcast, because Kristen's life changed in one magical sip of wine while we were living in Italy, and she...
I just returned from two weeks in Quebec for the Adventure Travel World Summit, my favorite global travel conference. Part of the reason this conference is my favorite is because it always includes an adventure for me during the week ahead of the conference. This year I did a multi-day cycling trip around Lake Saint-Jean in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. It was beautiful and so fun and I'll tell you more about it in a podcast later because the point today is... I crashed my gravel bike....
Yes - you read that right - Alex Honnold & Jim Morrison are my guests on the podcast this week. (First - can I get a cheers to that?!) 🤩 Alex Honnold is the professional rock climber we know from his unprecedented free solo (without ropes) ascents of El Capitan in Yosemite (as shown in the Netflix documentary Free Solo) and of the Taipei 101 skyscraper (which was covered live on Netflix). Jim Morrison is the first person to ever ski down the north face of Mount Everest through the Hornbein...
