I just returned from a girls' trip to Georgia (the country!), and you can hear all about it now on the podcast. Why Georgia?! Scroll down... Fun fact: In that last photo, our wine tasting table (carved from a tree) is older than the USA. 😳 Georgia is ancient... Why Georgia? I invite my friend (and returning podcast guest!) Ginger Cooper to help answer that question by sharing two very different adventures through this mountainous, wonderfully under-the-radar country. Ginger recounts a four-day trek through the remote villages of the Svaneti region, while I share how unexpected snow changed my group’s hiking plans and led us toward Kazbegi, the fortress village of Shatili, and the vineyards of Kakheti. Along the way, we talk guesthouses, local drivers, sketchy mountain roads, Georgian wine, incredible bread, unforgettable tomatoes, and the legendary Svaneti salt. We also explore the value of flexible travel, choosing experiences that genuinely call to us, and how local people and guides can bring a destination to life. Come for the practical tips and stay for a celebration of “third-tier travel” in a country filled with wild landscapes, deep traditions, and plenty of reasons to add Georgia to your list. Happy trails! 💛 Jackie |

Yes - you read that right - Alex Honnold & Jim Morrison are my guests on the podcast this week. (First - can I get a cheers to that?!) 🤩 Alex Honnold is the professional rock climber we know from his unprecedented free solo (without ropes) ascents of El Capitan in Yosemite (as shown in the Netflix documentary Free Solo) and of the Taipei 101 skyscraper (which was covered live on Netflix). Jim Morrison is the first person to ever ski down the north face of Mount Everest through the Hornbein...
I have spent the last 24 years living in and traveling to more than 60 countries. I love slow travel, spending time immersing myself deeply into places, and I love going back to places that feel like home to me (i.e. I have been to Chile more than 10 times in 10 years). Someone recently asked me, “What is your dream adventure?”… as in, where do I really want to go, anywhere in the world?… After considering this for about a minute, I knew my answer, and it didn’t surprise me: “I want to drive...
Hello and happy May from Montana! (Scroll for a photo of me in my new HOUSE!) I'm here with two resources for you today: There is a happy coincidence in the last two podcast episodes we've published (aside from my opinion that they are both super inspirational...) - both are centered around community AND getting your body moving in the outdoors, IRL. What's not to love?! 52 Hike Challenge - Meet Karla, Founder of 52 Hike Challenge - summarizing this one with this - if you need motivation,...
