An Epic Chilean Patagonia Road Trip

Once upon a December of 2017, I set off in a Toyota 4Runner down the length of Chilean Patagonia with a friend to drive the famous Carretera Austral - Chile's "Southern Highway." This "highway" is interrupted by fjords and lakes (and therefore lots of ferries), and dotted with volcanoes, glaciers, coastline, vast expanses of remote landscapes, and jaw-droppingly beautiful national parks. On that trip, I experienced the most freedom I've ever felt in my adult life. I just returned from two weeks in Quebec for the Adventure Travel World Summit, my favorite global travel conference. Part of the reason this conference is my favorite is because it always includes an adventure for me during the week ahead of the conference. This year I did a multi-day cycling trip around Lake Saint-Jean in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
